Over 200 of Scotland’s elite café professionals gathered at the Marriott Glasgow Hotel on Wednesday 22nd May for a memorable night, put on to recognise and reward the best in the coffee industry.

The awards celebrated the breadth of talent and entrepreneurial spirit that exist in this country as well as the efforts and dedication of the specialists who invest in ensuring their customers always receive high-quality of beverages, food and snacks.

The glamorous evening was hosted by Clyde 2 presenter, Gina McKie and provided a platform to thank those in the café industry, letting them know that their work doesn’t go un-noticed.

Several of the awards were split into local regions to ensure the diverse range of businesses from across Scotland are recognised for providing coffees with artistic presentations and serving unique flavours  that distinguish them from the rests.

The competition was fierce, but Edenmill Farm Shop, Café & Soft Play managed to win the Best New Café award and took the trophy home.

Director of Operations, Brenda Anderson said ‘This is a fantastic achievement for the whole team at Edenmill who have worked tirelessly since Edenmill relaunched in December 2018.  To receive this accolade after such a short period is a testament to their hard work and dedication and hopefully this is the first of many more successes for our great team!’

A Spokesperson for the Scottish Cafe Awards 2019, said: “Although on our second year, we are honoured by the fantastic response we have had from the public who was so keen to vote for their favourite cafés.

“The cafe industry has grown massively over the past years and we aimed to seek out, reward and thank those who have managed to make a real difference by introducing innovation in this industry.

“The awards also aimed to acknowledge everything that is coffee related and showcase that Scottish people are big coffee lovers. It was lovely to be part of this celebration and we would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their achievements!”
